Partnerships

DL2 partners with leaders in individual districts and district networks to help them use the latest research and data to transform their central offices into engines of educational equity.

The Central Office Transformation for Equity Network (The Central Office TEN)

The Central Transformation for Equity Network (“Central Office TEN”) engages district leaders committed to advancing central office transformation for equity using anti-racist leadership practices. Leaders convene online and onsite in participating districts to learn while doing — deepening their understanding of central office transformation for equity and antiracism as they design and implement their own approaches and support each other’s efforts.

In the process, the network is producing resources for the field including:

Tools to help leaders move research into practice.
New knowledge about how central offices drive equitable teaching and learning.
New knowledge about how central offices support educational equity.

The Central Office Human Resources Transformation (COHRT) Learning Series and Network

The COHRT Learning Series is a set of on-line experiences that aim to help Human Resources directors and staff in Washington State school districts transform their HR units into drivers of teacher quality and diversity.

The series is:

Forward thinking. Focused not on the running HR as-is but on helping district leaders ensure HR runs the way it needs to to drive teacher quality and diversity.
Research- and data-based. Anchored in the latest research on how HR matters to teacher quality and diversity and promoting data practices to drive improvement.
Rooted in active learning strategies. Engaging participants to actively use the research and data to lead HR forward.
DL2 is partnering with Center for Education Data and Research (CEDR, led by Dan Goldhaber) to develop this series to include the latest research and experience with teacher labor market dynamics as well as how school district central office HR units support teacher quality and diversity.

Leaders at the Center. A Research Practice Partnership with Highline Public Schools (WA)

Leaders at the Center is a long-term Research Practice Partnership between Highline Public Schools and DL2 to support innovation in central office transformation for equity. DL2 works closely with HPS leaders to use the latest research in the field to design and implement their own approaches to central office transformation that reflect and push beyond the research.
